Rasasi Hawas Kobra, a great twist on LV imagination

Rasasi’s Hawas line has been running since 2015, and the flankers keep coming: Ice, Black, Fire, Malibu, Atlantis, and now Kobra. This one sits at the citrus-forward, clean-masculine end of the lineup. Top notes of ginger, bergamot, and tangerine. Heart of green tea, cinnamon, and neroli. Base of musk, amber, and woods. Marketed as inspired by Louis Vuitton Imagination, which is either a selling point or a red flag depending on your relationship with the phrase “inspired by.”

For me it was the selling point. I’d been meaning to try Imagination for a while, not enough to spend LV money on a decant, definitely not enough to buy a bottle. Kobra turned up at around 35 euros and looked like a reasonable way to find out if the profile worked for me without committing to something I’d never actually worn. Blind buy, two months ago. Probably the right call.

On the Skin

The opening hits clean and sharp: bergamot and tangerine with a lemon-tea quality underneath, and yes, there’s a soapiness to it. I’ve read enough reviews to know that’s a divisive trait with this one. On my skin it reads exactly as intended, not cheap soap, not heavy laundry detergent, just clean, the kind that smells intentional. The ginger adds a quiet edge, keeps it from tipping into full bathroom cabinet.

After about half an hour the citrus softens and the tea note takes over, and that’s where it lives for most of the wear: green tea with a warm, faintly spiced musk underneath. The amber never gets sweet. The woods are there without being obvious about it.

Performance

Genuinely good for the price. Eight-plus hours of consistent wear, decent projection for the first couple hours, then it settles into something closer rather than disappearing entirely. For 40 euros, that’s not a small thing.

The LV Imagination comparison is there, at least in the DNA. Whether it’s an accurate match I can’t tell you, I still haven’t smelled the original. What I can tell you is that whatever Kobra is doing works on its own, without needing the comparison to justify it.
