Last updated: 17-07-2026
This Privacy Policy explains how jordidriesen.be (“the Site”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you visit the Site, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable Belgian data protection law.
1. Who We Are

For the purposes of GDPR, Jordi Driesen is the data controller responsible for your personal data collected through this Site.

If you have any questions about this policy or how your data is handled, you can reach out using the contact details above.
2. What Data We Collect
Depending on how you use the Site, we may collect:
- Usage data: pages visited, time spent on pages, referring website, approximate location (derived from IP address), device type, browser type, and general navigation behaviour.
- Technical data: IP address (truncated/anonymised where possible), device identifiers, and browser settings.
- Data you provide directly: if the Site includes a contact form, comment section, or newsletter sign-up, we collect the information you submit, such as your name and email address.
We do not knowingly collect special categories of data (health, religion, political views, etc.) through the Site.
3. Cookies and Tracking Tools
We use the following tools to understand how visitors use the Site and to improve content. Each is described below.
3.1 Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to measure traffic and understand visitor behaviour (e.g. which posts are read, how visitors arrived at the Site). Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect data such as your IP address (which may be shortened/anonymised), device and browser information, and pages viewed. This data is processed by Google Ireland Limited and may be transferred to Google LLC in the United States. Google participates in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and/or relies on Standard Contractual Clauses to safeguard such transfers. More information is available in Google’s Privacy Policy.
3.2 Google Tag Manager
We use Google Tag Manager to deploy and manage the tracking scripts on the Site, including Google Analytics. Tag Manager itself does not collect personal data but controls which tracking tags are loaded on your browser.
3.3 Rybbit (rybbit.io)
We use Rybbit, a privacy-focused, cookieless analytics tool, to collect aggregate insights about site traffic (such as page views, referrers, and general visitor counts) without relying on persistent cookies or cross-site identifiers. Rybbit processes limited technical data (such as IP address, used only to derive general location and then discarded or hashed, depending on configuration) to generate these statistics. Where Rybbit’s hosted service is used, data is processed on EU-based infrastructure.
3.4 Cookie Consent
Google Analytics relies on cookies that are not strictly necessary for the Site to function, so under Belgian and EU e-Privacy rules, we ask for your consent before these cookies are placed. We use the Pressidium Cookie Consent plugin to display a cookie banner when you first visit the Site. Non-essential cookies, including those used by Google Analytics, are only loaded after you give your consent through this banner. You can change or withdraw your cookie preferences at any time by reopening the cookie settings (typically available via a link in the site footer or a floating settings button), which will update which scripts are allowed to run and remove any cookies you have opted out of. You can also control or disable cookies through your browser settings at any time.
4. Legal Basis for Processing
We process your personal data on the following legal bases:
- Consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR): for non-essential cookies and tracking, such as Google Analytics, where consent is required.
- Legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR): for privacy-preserving, aggregate analytics (such as Rybbit) that help us understand and improve the Site without significantly impacting your privacy.
- Consent or contract (Article 6(1)(a)/(b) GDPR): where you voluntarily submit information, such as through a contact form or newsletter sign-up.
You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
5. Sharing Your Data
We do not sell your personal data. We share limited data with the following categories of recipients, solely to operate the Site:
- Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC (Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager)
- Rybbit (analytics service provider)
- Hetzner Online GmbH (web hosting provider, Germany)
Where data is transferred outside the European Economic Area (e.g. to the United States via Google), we rely on the recipient’s participation in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and/or Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.
6. Data Retention
- Google Analytics data is retained according to the retention settings configured in our Analytics account (typically between 2 and 14 months for user-level and event-level data), after which it is automatically deleted.
- Rybbit analytics data is retained in aggregate form and is not linked to identifiable individuals beyond the period necessary to generate the statistics described above.
- Data you submit directly (e.g. via a contact form) is retained only as long as necessary to respond to your enquiry, unless a longer retention period is required by law.
7. Your Rights Under GDPR
As a visitor to the Site, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data
- Erase your data (“right to be forgotten”)
- Restrict or object to certain processing
- Data portability, where applicable
- Withdraw consent at any time for consent-based processing
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@jordidriesen.be.

9. Children’s Privacy
The Site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from individuals under the age of 16.
